Funeral services were held for Lewis B Martini, 66 of Monongahela who died Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Monongahela-Valley Hospital. Born June 18, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late Lewis A. and Dolores (Hayes) Martini. Lew spent forty five years of his career working in the metals industry and for the last twenty five years of his career he served the steel industry in North America as a dedicated field service man and inspector for Paul Wurth, a world-wide steel mill equipment builder. Lew took his job serious, he loved going into the shops and plants and talking to the guys about their equipment operating issues. His claim to fame was to solve every problem with just plain old common sense. Over the years Lew earned respect in the field as a key problem solver who would always get the job done. A 1968 graduate of South Huntington (Yough) High School, Catholic by faith, he had a passion for golf and loved older cars and going to car shows. Surviving are his wife Olga (Gutierrez) Martini who he married August 24, 1985, a son Lewis D. Martini of Yukon, a brother and his wife, Randy and Susan Martini of West Newton, three grandchildren Lewis C., Mark A. & Felicity. The Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess St. Monongahela was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was held in Sacred Heart Cemetery (Carroll Twp.).
