About | Martha Sharpless Cecil, 58, of West Newton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at the Hempfield Manor, in Greensburg. She was born Jan. 21, 1959, in McKeesport, the daughter of William K. Sharpless and the late Martha Louise Varner Sharpless. Martha graduated from Yough High School in 1977. Martha was employed at the West Newton Giant Eagle where she worked in the deli. In addition to her father, William, she is survived by her daughter, Renee Rumbaugh, and her husband, David, of New Stanton; her son, Mark Paul Cecil Jr., of Greensburg; and her brothers, Bill Sharpless, of West Newton, Dan Sharpless, and his wife, Kim, of West Newton, and John Sharpless, and his wife, Stefanie, of New Jersey. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the RICHARD F. DODSON MEMORIAL HOME, 213 Main St., West Newton. A private service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, and the private interment will be at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Sharpless Cemetery, 2445 Mt Zion Road, Swanton, MD 21561.
