About Rickey A. Miller, 55, of Ruffsdale, passed away at 5:04 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Rickey was born Sept. 4, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Jacob D. Miller Jr. and Dorothy A. Suter Miller, of Ruffsdale. Rickey was a loving son, brother and uncle. He graduated from Yough High School with the Class of 1973 and received an associate degree in electronics from Westmoreland County Community College. He worked as an electronic technician throughout Western Pennsylvania, last working for CABCO in the Irwin area. He was affiliated with the Mendon and Glenwood United Methodist churches. Rickey enjoyed singing karaoke at Music and More, was deemed the "Karaoke King," and won several contests for his ability singing "Man of Constant Sorrow" from the film, "O Brother Where Art Thou." He was also a very efficient mechanic, rebuilding and working on motors, and years ago took pleasure in raising daschunds. Rickey will be sadly missed by his devoted family; his parents, Jacob D. Miller Jr. and Dorothy A. Suter Miller; his sister, Patricia Ann Bowman and her husband, Jay W. Bowman; his two brothers, David A. Miller and his wife, Becci, and Douglas A. Miller; and his nephew, Eric Bowman, all of Ruffsdale; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Wayne Miller, in 1967. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor D. Keith Solomon officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Barren Run Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Rickey A. Miller. Love Lasts Forever!
