About | Stanley West, 67, of West Newton, formerly of Monessen, departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, unexpectedly. He was born June 18, 1945, to the late Walter West and Lu Lu Mae Brown West in Pittsburgh. Stanley was a graduate of South Huntingdon High School in Ruffsdale. He also attended trade school in Pittsburgh. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Stanley worked for the Universal Auto Radiation Corporation in Pittsburgh as a machine operator. Stanley was loved by many. He was known for his jitney services. He would always be willing to get you where you needed to be. He loved sports and his family even more. Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Brenda L. West of Monessen; and son, Anthony West, Cortez Tiller of Charleroi, Stanley West Jr. of Maryland, Alexander West of Maryland and George West of North Carolina; a brother, James Brown of Washington, D.C.; a sister-in-law; surrogate mother, Betty West of Greensburg, who helped raise him after his parents' death; 12 grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis and Robert West; and four sisters, Hazel Spencer, JoAnne Boatwright, Delores Denton and Earlene West. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Whole Truth COGIC, 1004 McKean Ave., Donora, and noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at which time services will begin. The Rev. Maurice B. Wade Jr. will give the Eulogy. Interment will be at Olive Branch Cemetery, Smithon. The WILLIAM R.
