| About | John was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1951. He received his master’s degree at Sangamon State University in Springfield, Il. and his bachelor’s degree in Music-Education at Rhode Island College in Providence. He started a fund-raising company called John A. Davis and Associates in 1976 and moved to Dallas in 1981. Through his company, John raised thousands of dollars for the Dallas Repertory Theatre, Cable Access of Dallas, the Meadows Foundation and other groups. He chose to go into fund raising because it was a way to support the arts and continue his work in the arts after he found that performing was not the thing he really enjoyed. John died at his Dallas home on January 21, 1996. A memorial service was held on February 22, 1996 at the Dallas Horticulture Center in Fair Park. John was treasured for his integrity, cut-to-the-chase counsel and vision. John will be missed by all those who loved and respected him. At the time of his death, John was survived by his father, John D’Errico, and a sister, Shirley Ann Pompei, both of Cumberland, Rhode Island. |
