About | Alice (Blaney) Couser, 73, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of David Couser for 24 years. Born in Quincy, MA on October 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late James and Agnes (McNally) Blaney. Alice was a 1968 graduate from Middletown High School and worked at People’s Credit Union before becoming a secretary at various commands on NAVSTA Newport. She retired from federal service after 25 years in 1997. After her retirement, Alice worked as a hostess at Salas’s Restaurant in Newport until it’s closing. She loved going to the beach with her friends and family, reading and watching her beloved Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.
