| About | FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - Mrs. Christine A. “Chris” McCaull, age 61, of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Sunday evening, May 6, 2012 at her home. Born in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Darrel and Theresa Russo Stroud. She grew up in Middletown, Rhode Island graduating from Middletown High School, Class of 1968. After high school, Chris attended the Hart School of Music in Hartford, CT and the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. After college she continued to pursue her love of music as she played Clarinet in a traveling concert band in Newport. In 1974 she married her high school sweetheart, William B. “Bill” McCaull, Jr. After they married, they settled in Gales Ferry, CT where she worked in the Tax Accessor’s Office for the City of Groton. In 1979, the McCaull’s had their first child, a son, Brian David. In the early 1980s, they moved to Warwick, RI and in 1986, their daughter, Dana Lauren rounded out the family. In 1987, in conjunction with Mr. McCaull’s work at Kings Bay Submarine Base, the family came to Fernandina Beach, FL. After settling in Fernandina Beach, Mrs. McCaull worked with First American Title as a Title Researcher until retiring in 2006. An avid Reader and lover of fiction, she was also active in the music community, playing Clarinet and traveling with the New Horizons Band as well as playing for the Taize services at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Her son, Brian David McCaull, who passed away in 2002, precedes her in death. Chris leaves behind, her husband of thirty eight years, William B. “Bill” McCaull, Jr., her daughter, Dana Lauren McCaull, both of Fernandina Beach, FL, two brothers, Paul Stroud, Jamestown, RI, William Stroud, Boston, MA, a granddaughter, Alexis McCaull and several nieces and nephews. |
