About | Marcelo Daniel Perini, 25, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015. Born in Greenville, he was a son of Marcelo Lemos and Kathleen Dwyer Perini and grew up in the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fitness, soccer, football, snowboarding, and racing. Marcelo had the great opportunity to explore Europe with his parents when they lived in France while he was in his early teens. Where better could a Formula 1 Race fan live but in Europe and get to spend time in the F1 pits with his father? Marcelo's spirt of adventure also took him to the home country of his paternal grandparents, Brazil, visiting his great Aunt and Uncles and other extended family. There he travelled to Sao Paulo, Rio, down the Amazon River, and caught a few waves surfing off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. While in Europe, along with his brothers, he became fluent in French. A very appealing gift when he returned to Greer, South Carolina to finish High School. Marcelo continued on to college with a goal set on being an Engineer like his Grandfather, Father, and Uncles. As of recent, Marcelo worked as an associate at BMW. He loved to travel across the country visiting his loving family in Colorado, New York, Massachusetts and Florida. Because of his engaging personality, Marcelo was blessed with many friends with whom he enjoyed watching his favorite football teams, the USC Gamecocks and the Miami Dolphins In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Joshua Perini, and Christiano Perini; grandmother, Myrthes Perini; three aunts, Margaret (Peter) Webster, Virginia (Neil) Killmore, and Vivian (Jamal) Boudhaouia; and five uncles, John (Florence) Dwyer, Joseph (Margaret) Dwyer, Paulo (Ana) Perini, Eduardo Perini, and Patrick (Ligaya) Perini; one niece, Isabella Perini; numerous cousins; and his Dog Zoe. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jose Perini; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Jeanne Dwyer; and his Uncle, James Dwyer The Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, January 8, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown followed by a time of visitation until 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Committal Ceremony at Graceland East Memorial Park.
