About | On the evening of Monday, September 16, 2024, Patricia “Pat” Wilson gently left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at the age of 76. Born on July 3, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Pat’s early years were filled with the warmth of family and the joy of childhood friends on 11th Street, where she met the love of her life, James Wilson. Their love story began when James moved in up the street, and while it may not have been love at first sight, it grew into a deep, lifelong bond. Together, Pat and James built a beautiful family with their beloved son, Chris Wilson. Pat was the heart of her family—devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had an incredible gift for turning everyday moments into cherished memories. Her talents were many; from crafting seat belts, answering phones in a bustling doctor’s office, capturing the innocence of many newborns first pictures with First Photo to baking personalized birthday cakes for her family. Her creativity seemed to have no limits. Family meant everything to Pat. She treasured every moment spent with loved ones and always made sure to look her best, even though her brightest accessory of all was her radiant smile. Through all of life’s ups and downs, including the challenging years of caring for James, Pat’s smile never faltered. Pat loved the simple pleasures in life—family beach trips with sunrises over the ocean, always with a cup of coffee in hand, and watching Tennessee football games with her family, cheering extra loud when they triumphed over Alabama. Time with her sisters was a highlight, as they were not just siblings but her dearest friends. A faithful member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church for many years, Pat had a special place in her heart for the church choir. Though she never joined due to the Wilson family's lack of musical talent, she often dreamt of joining the heavenly choir. In her final days, she could be heard singing and would say she was practicing for her new role in the celestial choir. Pat’s love for Christmas was unmatched, especially her enthusiasm for the Sevier Heights Living Christmas Tree. She spent weeks leading up to the performances inviting everyone she knew, eager to share the joy and message of Jesus Christ with all. Pat is proceeded in death by her parents Edd and Bonnie Underwood and husband James Wilson. Pat is lovingly remembered by her son, Chris, his wife, Rebekah, and her cherished granddaughters, Elizabeth and Jessica. She is also survived by her sisters, Sue Tilley (Richard) and their children, Rick (Laura) and Missy Matts (Kenneth); Linda Hankins and her children, Sandy, Mark (Amber), and Johnny (Virginia); along with several great-nieces and nephews who adored her. Pat’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Senator Ben Atchley TN State Veterans Home, Sevier Heights Baptist Church or Pat Summitt Clinic. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm, Sunday, September 22, 2024 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 4 pm. Rev. Charlie McNutt officiating. Family and friends will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Lyons View Pike, Monday, September 23, 2024 at 1 pm for graveside services.
