Mark was born in London England and came to America when he was two years old with his parents on the Queen Mary Ship. After graduation from SHHS, he attended ETSU for his freshman and sophomore years. Mark joined the U.S. Navy in late 1969 and stayed in for six years, during which time he served in Vietnam Nam on the U.S.S. Constellation. He served as one of the ships radar technicians. A few months after his tour ended, he met his late wife Rhee Cheatham in SC where they soon married in December of 1976. They had two sons, Joseph and Graham (wife Holly and their three children). He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Forestry. Mark retired from SC Laurens School District 56 Technology Services. He was an active member at First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, SC, involved with senior choir, hand bells, and once serving as an Elder. He was an avid fly fisher, guitarist and was involved with Laurens County Community Theater with his late wife. He is sadly missed by his friends and family. |
