About | Gary Stephan Brandon, age 63, of Gatesville died Thursday, January 08, 2015 at a Temple hospital. He was born January 24, 1951 in Alice, TX to William A. and Faye Sue (Shirley) Brandon Jr. He was raised in Agua Dulce, TX. Gary married Bonnie Williams on December 3, 2005 in Jonesboro, TX. He attended Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Texas Aggie Band, graduating in 1973. Upon graduation, he was commissioned into the US Army. He was a pilot serving overseas in Korea and attained the rank of Captain. After leaving the Army he joined the Air National Guard at Ellington AFB where he was an Apache Helicopter instructor. Gary worked, during that time, flying off-shore helicopters for companies serving oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Gary returned to college at Texas State University in San Marcos, where he received his Master’s degree in Computer Science. Following graduation, he moved to Belton and taught Computer Science at UMHB. He retired in 2004. He was Baptist and also a member of the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents W.A. and Faye Brandon. He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Gatesville, his stepdaughter Lauren Wise and husband Justin of San Marcos, his stepson Trevor Holden and partner Natalia Escalera of Austin, his granddaughters Bracyn and Kora Wise of San Marcos, his brother Ronnie and wife Pamela of Belton, his nephew Dale Brandon of Belton, his niece Laura Bruggman and husband Adam of Rosebud, his great niece Ariel Brandon of Georgia and his great nephew Chase Pettyjohn of Rosebud. |
