About | eah Upton Hammonds, 42, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, March 30, 2009. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Monsignor Harold Waldow officiating. Arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Leah was born Jan. 25, 1967, in Amarillo, where she was raised, and was a 1985 graduate of Amarillo High School. She also attended Amarillo College. She married Jason Hammonds on Jan. 17, 1986, in Amarillo. They moved to Dallas from Amarillo in 1990. She was a workers' compensation case manager for Coventry Insurance Co. Leah loved being a wife and mom, and loved genealogy. She also loved the holidays, when she could spend time with her family. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Jason Hammonds of Hickory Creek (Denton area); a daughter, Ansley Hammonds of Hickory Creek; and a son, Hayden Hammonds of Hickory Creek; her parents, Richard and Martha Upton of Amarillo; a sister, Anissa Upton and spouse Amy of Amarillo; and her grandmothers, Margaret Barbour and Cleta Upton, both of Amarillo.
