About | Donnie Alvin Piland, 70, died December 5, 2018 at his home in Borger. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Don Rice of Faith Baptist Church in Fritch officiating. Cremation services were under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Donnie was born September 5, 1948 in Paris, TX to Alvin and Charlene Hindman Piland. He came to Borger when he was a baby and lived here his whole life. Donnie married Roxanne Wilson November 27, 1977 in Borger. He loved Borger and everyone that knew him, loved Donnie. He attended Frank Phillips College and Wayland Baptist College on basketball scholarships and when he injured his knee he came back to Borger to begin work with his Dad at Alvin's. He loved to work and you would find him almost anytime at the shop. Donnie was a loving father, husband and Papa and loved taking vacations with his family, especially to Dallas and Las Vegas. He will be remembered as Dad on his softball teams as he was always the oldest to play. He loved to watch football, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys most of all. He also loved the Texas Rangers baseball team. If you knew Donnie you knew that you could always bribe him with sweets. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donnie is survived by his wife of forty-one years Roxanne, his son Dustin Piland and his wife Marisa of Borger and his daughter Leah Orona and her husband Adrian of Borger and five grandchildren August Piland, KylaMyka Piland, Lein Orona, Auden Orona and Taylee Orona. There will be no viewing but you are welcome to come sign his book at the funeral home and visit the family at his home. Service First Baptist Church 100 S.
