About | Heaven welcomed Elisa Stolhandske Young home on January 26, 2021 when she passed away at the age of 60.Elisa is survived by her husband John Young; children, Blaine Laubach of San Antonio, Lynze Morris and her husband Chris of Seguin, Texas and Justin Young and his wife Emma Kate of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren Kelton and Ella Bell Morris and Hayden and Colton Laubach and was predeceased by her granddaughter, Brieley Elizabeth Hall. Elisa is also survived by her parents Tom and Betsy Stolhandske; siblings Thomas B. "Toby" Stolhandske and his wife Krisanne, Matt Stolhandske and his wife Mary-Jean, sister of the heart, Mary Velasquez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.Elisa was born on May 7, 1960 in San Antonio. She graduated from Churchill High School in 1978 where she served as Prime Minister. Elisa was a beloved elementary school teacher at West Avenue, Hardy Oak, and Harmony Hills in NEISD. She was a member of the Conservation Society of San Antonio and enjoyed Bible Study and the fellowship of her many friends in faith.Elisa was a lover of all animals and for many years, while living at the family ranch near Comfort, had numerous pets including, dogs, cats, longhorns, donkeys, and even baby deer. Elisa loved to travel and collected many different stamps in her passport. She especially enjoyed trips with family and friends. She was also an avid fan of her father's former teams the Texas Longhorns and San Francisco 49ers as well as her hometown San Antonio Spurs.She and her husband enjoyed giving back to the community through Christian service projects including, feeding their neighbors in need in downtown San Antonio, many Walks to Emmaus, fundraising for Magdalena House and serving as part of Kyros Ministry.Elisa's warmth and loving spirit will be missed by so many including family, friends and former students.
