About | In the mid-1990's, I received a call from my very best friend, Johnny Sanders, and he explained that he'd been diagnosed with a deadly form of leukemia. Johnny fought this disease for nearly a year but, of course, leukemia won the war. Prior to his death, Johnny had rededicated his life to Christ, married a precious Christian woman, and he saw all of his children accept Christ as their Savior and follow Christ in believer's Baptism. I was blessed to sing at Johnny's funeral in Hamilton, Tx. but have since lost all contact with his family. During his time at Lamar High School, Johnny was a member of the R.O.T.C., V.O.C.A., Varangian Choir, and he loved to hunt, fish, and talk on his C.B. radio. His "handle" was "The Dutchboy," and he enjoyed a carreer as a truck driver until his death. I was compelled to leave a short record of the life and death of my best friend, and I'd certainly appreciate communication from anyone else who was also touched by this precious person.
