| About | Dorothy Sloan Obituary DOROTHY NORWOOD SLOAN passed away peacefully at her home in Houston, Texas on November 10, 2006. Born on June 15, 1948 in Nashville, Arkansas, she is preceded in death by her parents Barbara Hyatt Norwood and Houston Norwood, Sr. and son Barney "Joey" Sloan Jr. She is survived by her husband Barney and her three children Jared, Jacob, and Jaime as well as her four sisters and one brother and many nieces and nephews. A 1966 graduate of Milby High School, she was a former school teacher in the Pasadena Independent School District and the Harris County Education System. She dedicated her life to helping children achieve success in the classroom and in every day activities. Dorothy was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 6-8P.M. at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 10 A.M. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. |
