About | Passed away June 14, 2000. She left behind her husband, Luis, 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Her daughter, Maria Banda shared this about Dominga…“She was a kind, loving, well-known and respected person. She was the kind of person that knew no stranger. Everywhere she went, my mother touched everyone’s heart with a friendly “hello” or even just the beautiful smile that God gave her. The diagnosis of cancer did not stop her from being the person that she was everyday of her life. Actually, what people thought of as bad news turned into something that made our family bond even stronger. She continued to work as the supervisor in the Lynaugh Unit while going through her chemo and radiation treatments. People who have had loved ones go through these treatments know that it is such a hard and difficult time. My mother never gave up on her faith or hope until God decided it was time to see the beautiful smile He had given to one of His creations. She touched so many lives. I love you, Mom.” |
