Former classmate HENRIETTA JONES DUNCAN a resident of Monahans, died in Abilene, Kansas, on December 11, 1999. She was 53 years old at the time of her death. She was survived by 5 sons, Larry Jordon, Fallon Ray Jordan, Lanny D. Jordan, Henry Jess Jordan and Christopher Jordan; 2 grandchildren; and her sister, Arrie Rosalee Lee. Henrietta owned the Monahans Motel and was a successful business woman. She was active in the Chamber of Commerce in Monahans. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Monahans. Leon Grigry remembered this about Henrietta…..“Every time you saw her downtown she was wearing coveralls with paint and plaster on them from repairs she was making on one of her rental properties. She told me that she never thought she would grow up to become a handyman or woman as was the case.” |
