Larry Stevenson Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1965
Date of Passing Jun 11, 1996
About LARRY STEVENSON.....Larry’s mother, Doris Stevenson, wrote the following tribute to our former classmate, Larry, for the memory book………Thanks for including Larry in your memories for the 40th reunion. Larry passed away on June 11, 1996, which was mine and his father’s 50th wedding anniversary. Larry suffered with progressive MS for 18 years. The disease wore his body and spirit down, but it was a cardiac arrest that killed him. Because of the suddenness of the heart attack, he was spared the ordeal of being bed ridden.

Larry loved fishing and for years, his dad and a friend had a cabin leased in Mexico. They had many good fishing trips through the years. Saturday morning breakfast with Larry is a special memory. When he felt like going, we would go to the Colonial Inn in Monahans or I’d fix a good “ole” country breakfast. Sometimes he would spend the day with us. He had a motorized chair, which he called “Sparky”. He drove it everywhere and it was a big treat for his grandchildren to ride with him.

His wife, Sharon, lives in Monahans, along with his son, Jeffrey. They can be reached at Germania Insurance Agency. His daughters, Lisa Renee Sinclair and Jennifer Tollison, both live in Sherwood, Arkansas. Larry’s father, Bob, his sister, Nancy Williams, and I still live in Monahans. His Brother, Bill, lives in Yocha Linda, California. Larry’s motto was “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” And he did a wonderful job of living out that motto in his life.”
