He and his wife Jamie (fellow ’65 classmate) were married 21 years and have one son, Troy, who lives in Granbury, TX, with his wife and 2 daughters. In addition, he was survived by his mother, Betty, who passed away in 2002, his father, Booth, and sister, Brynn McClanahan (Class of ’70). Randall attended Hardin-Simmons before joining the Navy in 1969. He was in submarine service stationed in Vallejo, California, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Groton, Connecticut, and Honolulu, Hawaii, until 1982. At that time, he became a start-up engineer at Comanche Peak Power Station outside of Granbury, Texas, where he worked until his illness caused him to take long term disability. Jamie shared the following memories of Randall…..“He was a devoted provider and family man…a man of his word. If he said a thing was so, it was so! Randall was an avid hunter and a competitive marksman. He was dedicated to whatever work he was doing and had a wonderful dry sense of humor. I had hoped to grow old with him.” |
