Events | Jane Marie Todd, 62, of Hallettsville, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 21, 2024, at her home in Vienna, surrounded by her husband, Jerry Wayne Todd, and two adored fur-babies. Jane was a beautiful soul, with a contagious laugh and endless smile. She was born July 1, 1961, in Waco, Texas, to Otto and Evelyn Hoelscher. She was the second youngest of five children and graduated from Robinson High School in 1979. In 1982, she became a beautiful mother to her daughter, Stephanie, and then her son, Nathan, in 1983. Her children were the stars in her eyes, and both of her children adored her equally as much. She raised her two children with a firm hand and a golden heart and worked multiple jobs to give them everything they needed. In 1992, she met the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Todd. They were married May 8, 1993, and they settled their blended family in Hallettsville, and called Vienna home. Jane was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Jane worked at Hallettsville ISD as a paraprofessional for 22 years and retired in 2019. During her time at Hallettsville HS, she was a two-time recipient of the golden bell award, which she displayed proudly in her home office. She opened her arms, and her heart, to so many students who needed help, guidance, or just someone to talk to throughout the day. She took great pride in her position at the school and considered all of her students as “one of her own”. Jane enjoyed the small-town life and loved living out in the country even more. Her truest passions included being with her family, going to the lake, spontaneous fishing trips to the beach, cheering the loudest at any one of her grandkid’s activities, or enjoying time on the back porch watching her deer with her 3 fur-babies, Bailey Mae, Hercules and Rosco-Corndog-Pico Train. In her younger years, Jane was overly excited to get her motorcycle license and travel across the state with her 4-man biker club, the Vienna Slow-Riders. Jane is survived by: her mother Evelyn Hoelscher of Waco; husband Jerry Wayne Todd of Hallettsville; daughter Stephanie Prihoda & husband Patrick of Schulenburg and grandchildren, Carolyn “CJ”, Van and Koi Prihoda; son Nathan Dodd of Hallettsville; step-son Jeremiah Todd & wife Melissa of Shiner and grandchildren, Preston and Paisley; brother Richard Hoelscher of Waco; three sister, Peggy Mattlage & husband Fred, Patsy Koenig & husband Michael and Rosemary Clark & husband Robert, all of Waco; brothers-in-law Pete Todd & wife Lynn of Waco and Randy Gilpatrick of Hallettsville; sisters-in-law, Georgia Speath & husband Danny and Zalla Gilpatrick-Jones of Victoria; and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
