About | Sandra Horne Obituary Sandra Horne Sept. 22, 1959 - March 7, 2022 The best mother the world has ever seen! In true Sandra Horne fashion, she left detailed instructions for me to follow. Sandra would like to let you know that her work here on Earth is done. On March 7, 2022, she received a call, an offer that she couldn't refuse, for an appointment from which she would not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge bonus, no more pain, no more worries, and a reunion with family and friends that she has not seen in a while. Sandra Renay Horne lived life on her terms for 62 years. She was definitely one of a kind. Born on September 22, 1959, in Golinda, TX. She attended and graduated from Robinson Independent School District in Robinson, TX, and for the last 17 years she has called Crowley, TX, her home. She was a God-fearing woman that taught me to walk by faith and not by sight. She was many things to many people. She was the best mother and grandmother that anyone could wish for. She was a protective and devoted sister, and a loving friend to many. She brought life and laughter to all that knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. My mother was one of those people that just drew others to her. Wherever she went she made friends, and never neglected to keep in touch with them over the years. She loved to bring people together. She always had advice for everyone, whether you asked for it or not. She was strong willed and very competitive. And one of the strongest people you could have ever met. It would not be adequate to merely mention who Sandra is survived by. There are so many people that meant a lot to her over the years. There are far too many relatives and dear friends to mention them all. She leaves a legacy of memories to be cherished by; Her partner in life, Michael Allen; as well as her wonderful daughter, Tiffany Horne (Melissa); and the light of her life, and Favorite Grandson, Tarmarick Williams. Along with four sisters, Diann Smith (Eugene); Judy Brookins; Elane Rogers (Ralph); Arnette Washington (Raymond); and two brothers, Kevin Horne (Candy); and Cleveland Daniels (Barbara); and eight nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children, Cecilea (Richard), Joni, Jordan (Helena), Avery (Jessica), Raymond, Alexis, Charlie, and Kevin; as well as 13 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Lang Daniels; her stepfather, Herman Daniels Jr; her niece, Deetria Shante Horne; and Peleton Horne Jr. Following her instruction there will be no funeral or memorial service held. In the words of Sandra "If they didn't come and see me when I was living, they surely won't get to see me when I'm dead". She was generous and she would give you her last, literally. Her last show of generosity was that she donated her body to UT Southwestern Medical Center's Willed Body Program to study and to help find a cure for an aggressive, rare form of cancer, Leiomyosarcoma, of which she was diagnosed with in July 2021. She remained ever faithful and strong throughout her journey. She was resilient and always hopeful. She did not lose her battle with cancer as the cancer departed when she did, so technically it was a tie! Sandra Horne, you will truly be missed. Published by Waco Tribune-Herald on Mar. 15, 2022.
