| Events | Obituary Monty Don Mayfield was born March 22, 1973, in Waxahachie to Don and Sue Mayfield. He departed this life on Sept. 15, 2021. Monty was a 1991 graduate of Waxahachie High School and graduated Mountain View College in 1995 with an associate of science – mechanical design CAD. He married Sheri McAdoo in 2005. Monty grew up in Waxahachie and loved to ride his motorcycle with his dad out in the country. He was a mechanical designer/engineer by trade and spent 25 years working in the oil and gas industry designing high pressure/high temperature downhole wireline tools, as well as sand separators, ASME section VIII DIV 1 and DIV 2 code vessels. He was last employed at Complete System Fabrication LLC in Springtown, Texas. Monty was an avid fan of and loved to watch MMA (mixed martial arts) fights. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music and reading. Monty was preceded in death by his father, Don Mayfield; his paternal grandparents, Homer and Faye Mayfield; and his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Catherine Beasley. He is survived by his wife, Sheri Mayfield; his mother, Sue Mayfield; one sister Sonya, and husband Scott Brooks; two nieces, Caroline, and husband Trenton Lee, and Ellie Alexander; one nephew, Ross Alexander; and an uncle and aunt, Sylvan and Barbara Beasley. Monty was very loving, loyal, caring and intelligent. He was always willing to help others. He will be truly missed. Visitation will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. with his funeral service following at 2 p.m. |
