About Juan (John) Davila AKA Pastor John, AKA Pastor D, AKA Mr. D 49, of Pearsall TX passed away Wednesday, July 21,2021 in San Antonio, TX.

John grew up in a loving, Christian family with his four siblings, mother, and his father. He graduated from Taft High School and attended St. Phillips College while working for his father. He then attended Latin American Bible Institute AKA Christ Missions College where he met the love of his life, Sherri LeDay Davila and they were married December 12, 1998.

They were youth pastors at His Grace Assembly of God in Sweeny, TX for three years and College & Career Directors at Westover Hill Assembly of God in San Antonio, TX for two years.

John and Sherri became the pastors of First Assembly of God in Pearsall, TX in March 2003 where John has not only served his congregation but has been a community pastor for 18 years.

John was not only pastor of First Assembly of God, but also had the privilege of fulfilling another calling and passion of his which was to pour his life into young people. John taught at the same school his children attended, The Tree of Life Learning Academy at the First Baptist Church in Pearsall, for many years. John loved the students, teachers, and parents and he was loved by them.

John is a tremendous man of God that lived out his authentic, Christian life daily. He LOVED God, his family, his church, friends, and his community. He loved well and served well. He will be missed. His legacy will live on in his family, church, students, teachers, and community.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.” 2 Tim. 4:7
