Jose graduated from Kearns High School in 1992. Jose went on to attend the Salt Lake Community College and joined the Army. Jose would later return from the army and became a Police Officer for the city of Midvale. While a Police Officer, Jose served as a Patrol Officer, a DEA Metro Narcotics Detective, a Motor-Officer, Community Oriented Police, Assistant Team Leader for the Midvale Police SWAT Team, and Homicide Detective. Jose also received Officer Of The Year Award for the city of Midvale as well as Utah Latino Peace Officer Of The Year. Jose passed away on May 25, 2006 due to complications from esophageal cancer which Jose developed from exposure to the many Meth Labs that he busted while working as a Narcotics Investigator. Jose is deeply missed by his parents, brothers, sisters in law and nephews and nieces. Jose is also missed and remembered by many of his friends in and out of the Law Enforcement Community. |
