Adelia ("Dee") Hall Rushforth 1918 ~ 2008 FRUIT HEIGHTS - Adelia ("Dee") Hall Rushforth, 90, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2008. She was born March 5, 1918 in St. George, Utah as the oldest child of Orson Charles Hall and Philena Pickett Hall. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in San Francisco, California, where she met her husband, Thomas Stevenson ("Steve") Rushforth, and where they were married on December 9, 1944. After the war, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and they made their home in Kaysville and later in Fruit Heights. Dee was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Kent, as well as by her sister Verle Baumann and her brothers Orlo and Julian Hall. She is survived by: her sister Eldene Stewart; her children, Dennis Rushforth (Gail), Sandra Rushforth, Layne Rushforth (Sharon), Sharla Hunt (Frank), and Glenda Miller; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grand children; and many friends. Her life was one of compassion and service as a mother, a citizen of the community, and in various callings in the church. At various times in her life she was a teacher at Dixie High School and at Layton High School, a member of curriculum committee for the Church, a docent at the Church History Museum, a leader in various Church positions, and an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights 3rd Ward, 170 N. Mountain Road. Friends and family may call on Friday, November 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Interment, Kaysville City |
