About | James Brochu James Gordon Brochu James Gordon Brochu, 63, of Louisa, passed away suddenly at Martha Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by his entire loving family. Born on February 12, 1951, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Hilda Jean Watts Brochu and Joseph Elias Brochu. He was also predeceased by three nephews, Jonathan E. Brochu, Johnnie Wayne Shifflett and DeWayne Shipe. After serving in the United States Air Force, Jimmy was the owner/operator of Troy Enterprises and Crossroads Express Trucking Companies for many years. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Brochu- Birckhead; their son, James G. Brochu Jr.; and his two special grandkids, Nikolas and Kristofur Brochu. He is also survived by Cody and Ali Haislip, whom have lived with Pop since the age of four, and who he thought of as his own. Other survivors include his brother, Joseph E. Brochu and wife, Barbara; two sisters, Joyce E. Brochu and fiance, Everett Kirby, and Judith Brochu and Dan Blake, all of Esmont; nephew, Joseph E. Brochu Jr.; nieces Crystal Fitzgerald and husband, Lee, of Esmont, Jennifer Drumheller and husband, Randy, of Palmyra, Jessica Shipe, of Amherst, and Wendy Dickerson and husband, Keith, of Barboursville; great-nephews, Jesse Brochu, Jason Drumheller; great-nieces, Casie Ponton and husband, Brandon, Jordon, Morgan and Megan Drumheller, and Natalie Shipe; and a great-great-niece, Anastasia Ponton. Also left to cherish his memory are his mother-in-law, Mary Walker Miller and father-in-law, Charlie Ray Pace; a sister-in law, Deborah Pace Loeser and her husband, Jacob; and a brother-in-law, G.C. Pace. He will also be missed by special aunts, Doris Harlowe and Kay Watts; and a special uncle, Gary Watts. Family night will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Holly Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Thomas Frost officiating.
