About STEVEN LEE Olinger, 42, of Christiansburg, departed this life on Tuesday, December 11, 2001, and celebrated his 43 rd birthday on December 12 th with his mother in Heaven. Steven was a well-known Bail bondsman and private investigator in Southwest Virginia. Steve was born on December 12, 1958, in Roanoke, Va. to S. Dutton and Charlotte Price Olinger. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Jeffrey Walton. His two grandfathers, Hugh Dutton Olinger of Blacksburg and Robert L. Price of Roanoke, also preceded him in death. He is survived by one daughter, Alexa Brooke; and two sons, Nicholas Justus and Alec Steven. He also leaves behind one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and April Olinger of Blacksburg; sisters and brother-in-law, Sherry Olinger and Andy DeMaury of Christiansburg and Kimberlee Olinger Padgett of Roanoke. He is also survived by his fiance, Bonnie Woolwine and her three children, Jenna, Braeden and Brandon, all of Christiansburg; and three nephews, Michael Christopher and Adam Blair Padgett and Ty Olinger; and one niece, Tessa Olinger; grandmothers, Naomi Olinger of Blacksburg and Thelma Price of Roanoke. He is also survived by mothers of his children, Jeannie Edwards Olinger and Lynn Thomas Young, all of Christiansburg, and many special uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Events The family will receive friends Thursday, December 13, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home and at all other times at 495 Southview Terrace, Christiansburg. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2001 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, Merrimac Rd., Blacksburg. Pastor Lynda Mitchell, Pastor Fred Hodges, the Rev. Dennis Hutchison and the Rev. Mike English will conduct services. Arrangements by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg.
