Wendy Weisend Brooks, age 57, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Lewis-Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Durham, N.C. on October 17, 1954 to the late Wendell H. and Ann Boggs Weisend. She worked at Virginia Tech in the Purchasing Department and was a Hokie and Atlanta Braves fan. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Brooks, Christiansburg, Va.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Justin Brooks, Atlanta, Ga., and Nathan and Lindsey Brooks, Canton, N.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Pam Weisend and Tom Dunlap, Floyd, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Lance Weisend and Kathryn Surchek, and their daughters, Astrid and Dava Weisend, all of Charlottesville, Va. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, and the family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Resource Center of NRV, P.O. Box 477, Radford, VA 24143, and Interfaith Food Pantry-Blacksburg United Methodist Church, P.O.
