| About | OBITUARY Erin Leigh Wright August 10, 1971 – June 28, 2025 Obituary of Erin Leigh Wright Erin Leigh Wright, 53, of Montpelier, VA, passed away on June 28th, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Wright Jr., her children: Ryan Price (Cierra), Emma Wright (Domonic), and Abigail Hylton (Parker), her three grandsons: Barrett Price (3), Jameson Price (2), and Grayson Wahl (8 months), her siblings: Nick Ritz (Geri), Noelle Holcomb (Dennis), Michael Walker (Tina), and her sisters in law: Cindy Propst (Kenny), Sheila Godsey (Gerald), and Crystal Brickey (Clay). She also leaves behind her three furry best friends Piper, Jill, and Dozer. Erin was diagnosed with cancer in 2011, but due to her strong willed nature, she fought a good fight for 14 years. She remained positive through endless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, multiple major surgeries, and dozens of daily medications. When the time came to make the difficult decision to start hospice, she was at peace with knowing she’d soon be reunited with her loved ones in Heaven, as well as finally be free of all the pain she’s been forced to endure. Erin never knew a stranger, always either making a new friend everywhere she went, or running into an old one. She was absolutely smitten by her grandsons, and wore the title of “Grammy” very proudly, showing them off and spoiling them every chance she had. She also loved spending time with her husband, whether it be simply relaxing at home watching tv, or vacationing at the beach, swimming with dolphins. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 8th, 2025, from 4pm-8pm at 10061 Kings Dominion Blvd, Hanover County, 23047. Feel free to stop by any time between 4pm-8pm, and bring a small dish if you’d like, as well. Please send prayers for Erin’s loved ones, especially her husband as he learns to navigate life without his wife, her kids as they carry on without their mother, and her grandsons as they try to understand why grammy isn’t here anymore.
