About | Ron Hottinger, age 70 of Lyons, died Monday, December 28, 2009 in the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness. He was a native of Bergton, Virginia, a graduate of Broadway High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with more than eight years of service. After his military service he worked with the W.T. Grant Department Store for several years, and lived in Mt. Pleasant and Charleston, South Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida. He retuned to Mt. Pleasant and retired in 2004 from K-Mart after twenty-five years of service. He then moved to Toombs County where he became an active member in the First United Methodist Church of Lyons and the John Durst Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Chrissa Hottinger. Mr. Hottinger is survived by his wife, Frances Kennedy Hottinger of Lyons, one daughter, Tracy Gaskins and husband Joey of Goose Creek, South Carolina, two grandchildren, Julia and Joseph Gaskins of Goose Creek, four sisters, Ruby Ennis of Bergton; Velma Lantz of Harrisburg, Virginia; Fay Hottinger of Broadway, Virginia; and Lorna Kirby of Franklin, Kentucky, two brothers, Richard Hottinger of Phenix, Alabama and Robert Hottinger of Bergton, and several nieces and nephews. |
