About | WEST POINT - Bryce Andrew Scott Stephen Baker of Quinton, VA passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 15, 2017. He was born February 29, 1996 in Huntsville, AL. He attended Bruton High School in Williamsburg, VA and graduated in 2014. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Army and graduated from boot camp at Ft. Sill, OK and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. He was assigned to the 902d Military Intelligence Brigade, Ft. Meade, MD as a Military Intelligence Analyst. Bryce was a talented, interesting, unique young man. He played trumpet in his high school band and often played Taps for memorial services. Bryce was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed everything that the Boy Scouts had to offer. He attended the National Jamboree twice, hiked Philmont, canoed the boundary waters, and scuba-dived at Sea Base. He was a street performer who often gave his earnings away to panhandlers. Bryce loved going to open mic nights and singing to the accompaniment of his ukulele, playing his trumpet, reciting original poetry, or trying his hand at stand-up comedy. He was building a career as a model in his off duty time. He loved working with his hands and was a self-taught flint knapper who could make an arrowhead out of anything, from a piece of obsidian to an old beer bottle. Bryce is survived by his father, George Baker of Chateaugay, NY; his mother, Maggie Crescentini (Andy) of Quinton, VA; brothers, Brandon Baker of Quinton, VA and Chandler Crescentini of Mechanicsville, VA; sisters Meghan Chatfield (Carrie) of Columbus, GA, Emma Crescentini of Mechanicsville, VA and Leah Crescentini of Mechanicsville, VA; grandmothers, Mary Baker of Lake Placid, FL and Audrey Boyle of Topsfield MA; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A funeral mass was conducted 11 am, Friday, October 20th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2631 Pocahontas Trail, Quinton, VA 23141, and interment with military honors was in Virginia Veteran's Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia Court House, VA, 23002.
