About | Daily Press(Newport News,Va)-July 1, 2009 TOANO - On Saturday, June 27, 2009, the Lord sent one of His Angels on a special mission. The mission was to bring home for eternal rest our beloved, Delma Justine Brown Street. She slipped into a peaceful sleep in her sister's home. Her life's journey began on May 20, 1958, the daughter of Joyce Brown Tazewell. Her home now is the mansion Christ has prepared for her. "Del" as she was so affectionately called, was a 1978 graduate of Bruton High School. At an early age, she accepted Christ into her life and joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. At the time of her death, she was employed by the Candle Light Kitchen Restaurant in Norge. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her blessed memories her husband, Ronald L. Street; her mother, Joyce B. Tazewell; her sister, Cynthia "Chin" White; her brother, James "Jamie" Johnson; her maternal grandmother, Hazel Brown; her stepsisters, Cynthia Tazewell and Cathy Davis; her stepbrother, Wheeler "Jody" Tazewell; her great-aunt, Margaret Williams; her great-uncle, Owen Harrold; her nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Morris Randall officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 5841 Centerville Road, by noon on Friday. Mrs. Street may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
