About | August 23,1960-Nov 15,2007 Daily Press(Newport News,VA)Nov.17,2007 WILLIAMSBURG - Sue Andrews Parkin, 47, lifelong resident of Williamsburg passed away Nov. 15, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She touched many lives with her courage and faith. Sue was born in Bell Hospital on Aug. 23, 1960. She was a 1978 graduate of Bruton High School in York County where she was a member of the Field Hockey team, Keyettes and Student Council. Sue was married to Kenneth Giles Parkin on April 25, 1981, and they later became the parents of three children. Sue was a stay at home mother, which allowed her to be active in the Christian Women's Club, her church, Williamsburg Community Chapel in which she and her family attended for 20 years, Williamsburg Christian Academy and Lafayette High School. She was a part-time school group tour guide at Jamestown until becoming ill with cancer. Sue is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ken; one son, Daniel Wilson Parkin; two daughters, Kaitlin Giles Parkin and Emily Sara Parkin, all of Williamsburg; one brother, Grady (Andy) Andrews and his wife, Jeannette of Chester, Va.; two sisters, Renie Andrews of Concord, N.C., and Sara Andrews Shoff and her husband, Steve of Boston, Mass.; her parents, Grady and Brownie Andrews of Williamsburg; her father and mother-in-law, Lester and Evelyn Parkin of Williamsburg; one brother-in-law, Dr. David Parkin and his wife, Eileen of Long Island, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Patricia-Lynn Spencer and her husband, Thomas, of Richmond, Va.; and six nieces and nephews.
