ROBEY, Charlene Thompson, "Gus," 72, of Richmond, Va., passed away June 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Thompson; and a brother Charles "Buddy" Thompson. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert A. Robey "Butch"; brother, J. Randolph Thompson; sister, Linda L. Rohmann; brother-in-law, James K. Whaley; sister-in-law, Patsy R. Whaley; nieces, Melinda Welch, Pamela Duke and Jessica Thompson; and cherished grandnieces and grandnephews and great-grandnieces. Gus was a graduate of VCU, and was previously employed by Robert Klein and Kennedy & Green advertising agencies as media director during her career. Later, she was employed by Best Products in management, and retired from VDOT, Department of Rail and Transportation. She enjoyed sewing, woodworking, gardening and loved her terrier dogs. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
