| About | On June 25, 2022; Aaron Brown, Sr. affectionately known as “Big Aaron” departed from his illness and toils of this earthly place. Aaron was born on July 28,1966 in Chesapeake, Virginia to Lloyd Brown Jr and Queen Carrington Brown. He grew up in Chesapeake, VA and was educated in Chesapeake City Schools. He graduated from Indian River High School in 1984. He graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology and then married his college sweetheart, Aatavia Knighten. They were happily married for 22 years. He began his Christian journey at the Greater St Andrews AME Church in Virginia Beach, Va. Years later, after moving to Fairfax County VA, he transferred his membership to Alfred Street Baptist Church, in Alexandria, VA to serve along with his wife and children. At Alfred Street he developed special bonds with Deacon Deborah Crawford and Deacon Howell who lovingly supported Aaron during the most difficult times when his health declined. He had a love for automobiles and worked on cars diligently during his free time and to support family and friends when they needed him. He enjoyed food and family gatherings, hosting and inviting family and friends from far and near. Aaron was passionate about science and technology, and sincerely enjoyed his career in healthcare. He was a licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist and worked in healthcare Informatics and the pharmaceutical industry. His children were his HEART. He loved them dearly and was determined to raise educated, productive young men and women. He was an extrovert and a great conversationalist, no one was a stranger. He was known as a spiritual man, who loved education and dedicated his life to his family, the love of medicine, connoisseur of the finer things, technology and automobiles who loved his wife, children, family, and friends. Precious memories live on in the hearts of his loving wife Aatavia and five children:Jasmine, Jenna, William, Aaron Junior and Adon; Parents: Lloyd Brown Jr and Queen Brown; three brothers Bo Brown (deceased), Quinton and Mark Brown; Nieces: Mahogany, Naija, Harlem, and Victoria; nephews: Marcus, Jabari, Ashton, and Evan; and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles, extended family and family friends.We have all been extremely blessed to know and love him. Accomplishments: Bachelor of Science: Nuclear Medicine Technology (Old Dominion University), Master of Business Administration (Marymount University), Graduate Certificate~Healthcare Management (Marymount University). A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Greater St. Andrews AME Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memroail Park. Viewing will be held from 5pm until 7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. |
