| About | Bennie Franklin Goddard, Jr., age 47, died on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at his home. A native of Chesapeake, VA, he was born on May 4, 1974 to Bennie Franklin Goddard, Sr. and the late Tracey Rebecca Brown Goddard, and was the husband of Leslie Old Goddard of the residence. He was self-employed, owning and operating Goddard Pest Control in Chesapeake, VA. Bennie was a member of South Mills Church of Christ. Bennie graduated from Indian River High School where he found his love for baseball and softball. He continued to play ball on up into his forties. Bennie had a passion for hunting and fishing that made him a true outdoorsman. He is survived by two daughters, Victoria Grace Goddard (18) of Bedford, VA and Becca Michelle Sawyer (14) of the home; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his Indian River family. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Goddard; his paternal grandmother, Alien Goddard Rousch; and his maternal grandmother, Barbara Bateman. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 at South Mills Church of Christ, 100 Culpepper Road, South Mills, NC 27976 with Minister Ron Stuart officiating.
