About | A partner at Venable, LLP, Dave joined the firm in 1987 soon after graduating from law school where he served as Executive Editor Research of the William & Mary Law Review. An athlete as well as a scholar, he served as editor of Raider's Digest at Jeb Stuart and he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. At the University of Virginia he served as a Resident Advisor and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He graduated from UVA in 1984, majoring in political science and economics. David was beloved husband of 26 years to Sarah Maddocks Goewey and devoted father of Jack, Claire, and Sophie Goewey of Vienna, VA. He was the loving brother of Catherine Dalton (Lynchburg, VA) and Susan Goewey (Vienna). His diagnosis of lung cancer was a shock to all as he never smoked. He ran the New York and Marine Corps marathons and played in an adult soccer league. He was on a quest to take his family to visit the top national parks, among them the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Zion. |
