About | Randy passed from Covid. Randy started exploring heaven on Valentine’s Day. It was perfect timing for a man so full of love. He was a superb husband, loving father, and adoring grandpa. He acted as a father figure to many who never knew the love of a father. He counseled people out of debt. He allowed people to live with us for free. He was a faithful friend. He was a servant of all. Valentine's Day is a fitting day to memorialize someone who was characterized by such love. Bodies grow old and decay. But hearts grow deeper and richer. I have watched Randy’s love mature over the years. His love had a source. The source was God. His relationship with God was not based on doing good works or following rules. He deeply understood that Christ first loved him. And secure in that love, he absorbed love from the Source and it flowed out from him to others. The deeper his relationship grew with Jesus, the greater the love that flowed from him. And I, Barbara Smith, was most blessed to be one of the recipients of that powerful love from my husband. And sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:3 |
