About | On Monday, December 25, 2023 in the early afternoon at his home, God sent his angels to bring his servant home. Burleigh Addison, Jr., was born on December 14, 1954, to the late Burleigh O. Addison, Sr., and Mamie R. Addison in Northampton County, Virginia. Burleigh was the husband of Judy M. Addison for 36 years, and they shared a bond of over 50 years. He received his education from Northampton Public Schools and went off to serve in the Virginia National Guard for six years, earning the title of staff sergeant. Burleigh worked in the Northampton County Schools system for 25 years, and he put much pride into his work. With his smile, loving attitude student’s always felt welcomed and safe walking up and down the hallways of Hare Valley and Occohanock Elementary School. Burleigh also worked for CSB for 17 years. At an early age, Burleigh gave his life to Christ and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and was a member of the New Mount Calvary Baptist Church Male Chorus until the start of the pandemic. He loved to sing and enjoyed going out singing at churches and other engagements the male chorus had. Burleigh was affectionately loved by everyone who knew him and will be remembered as a humble man. He was a very loving husband and wonderful father. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
