About | R. Michael Mattingly, (known as Mike in high school), died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster. Born Nov. 19, 1954, in Cheverly, he was the son of the late Raymond L. Mattingly and Catherine Hagerty Mattingly. He was the husband of Vicki Mattingly, his wife of 36 years. The youngest of three siblings, he grew up in Woodbridge, Va., and graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1974, where he first met his wife. He was a lifelong Redskins fan, and an outdoor enthusiast. He was active at LifePoint Church and Boy Scouts of American Troop 9, volunteering for many activities in church and scouting. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Courtney Schoenborn and Scott, and Christopher Michael Mattingly and wife, Shelly; grandchildren, Cate Schoenborn and Patrick Christopher Mattingly; sister Mary Mattingly Reiss and husband Steve; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Rolph. A memorial service will be held at 11 am. Thursday at LifePoint Church, 1701 Emory Road, Reisterstown, with the Rev. Joe Duke officiating.
