About | Ashley Alaine Turner (Tolley), 33, of Yakima, passed away suddenly Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital. Ashley was born June 7, 1984 in Yakima, WA to Steven Ray and Christine Marie (Chalupa) Turner. She was raised and educated in Yakima, graduating from Eisenhower High School in 2002 where she was in the band and became a drum major. Ashley attended Yakima Valley Community College and graduated from Washington State University where she was in the Cougar Marching Band and was an avid Cougar fan. She also received her Master’s Degree in English Literature at WSU. Ashley’s passion was anything that involved being with the band. She worked one year for Stanton High School and then transferred to Eisenhower High School where she was an English teacher and her passion was helping with the Band and Color Guard at the school. Ashley enjoyed traveling to wineries with her companion Ryan Hill and taking day trips. She was an avid movie buff and loved being with her family, nephews, niece and many friends especially Jessica and Stephanie. Ashley enjoyed her students and felt like they were her kids! She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Ashley had her two dogs Gracie & Ginger that were her babies. Survivors include her parents, Steve and Christine Turner of Yakima, brother, Jordan & Melissa Turner of Grandview, two nephews, Flynn and Si and niece, Ara Turner; grandfathers, Vern E. Chalupa and Tom & Donna DeLong, aunts, Kim Cone of Yakima, and Kathleen (Gary) Johnson of Gleed, cousins, Matthew, Seth, Ryan and Taylor and companion, Ryan Hill of Yakima. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Geraldine Chalupa and aunt, Donna Turner. A Celebration of Ashley’s Life will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Eisenhower High School Gymnasium. Private family inurnment will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. In honor of Ashley, please wear Ike colors or WSU colors. Please enter the school on the east side of the building between the stadium and the gym.
