Deanne (otter) Crow Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1971
Date of Passing Aug 05, 2022
About Born January 4, 1953, to Alphonse and Dorothy (Mindrup) Otter, in Anchorage, Alaska, the youngest of nine children, Deanne was nicknamed "the baby". In 1969 Deanne moved with her parents to Yakima, Washington, before her junior year of high school, where she graduated from Eisenhower in 1971. On August 5, 2022, Deanne passed peacefully, surrounded by family and was welcomed into the gates of heaven and greeted by her husband, Dwayne.
Deanne was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir for over 40 years. In her later days, she joined the Catholic Daughters of America, where she held positions of Treasurer and President. She had a strong Catholic faith, was generous with her time, and was loving to everyone she encountered.
Deanne had a fulfilling career, working in the banking industry for over 35 years. Beginning at Security Pacific Bank, which later was Rainer Bank, and now is KeyBank in Yakima. She spent the final 25 years with Yakima Federal Savings and Loan - Downtown Branch, where she graciously retired in 2016. Retirement was Deanne's favorite career. If you wanted to get lunch or just catch up on a phone call, you were penciled into her schedule. She enjoyed traveling the world with her good friends, Sandy and Mary. They traveled to the Holy Lands, enjoyed cruises to Greece, Rome, the Caribbean, and made a pit stop in Ireland. Her favorite destination was Panama Jack, plus a multitude of villages in Mexico.
She married her first husband, Brian Braun in 1975, and had two children, Matthew, and Meghan. Deanne separated from Brian in 2004. She then met the love of her life, Dwayne Crow in 2008, and married him on May 14, 2011. Together they enjoyed baseball games, hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, camping, and trying every winery on their many adventures.
Deanne always enjoyed decorating for the holidays, the collection of totes she had could surpass many department stores. She loved to host family and friends for dinner parties, and always had a sweet treat for dessert. Most famously the sour cream cut-out cookies with homemade buttercream frosting. She also enjoyed working on ceramic pieces and creating memorable gifts for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Al and Dorothy Otter, brother, Dominic Otter, and husbands, Dwayne Crow, and her children's father, Brian Braun. She is survived by her children, Matthew (Shanda), of Yakima, and Meghan, of Yakima, and her three most precious gifts, her grandchildren, Rider (7), Charlotte (4), and Brantley (4), 7 siblings, many nieces, and nephews, and so many friends.
Deanne was always one to give you a hug, and her hugs will be missed as much as she will be.
Thank you to the staff of her transplant team from the University of Washington, North Star Lodge, Highgate Senior Living, and Cottage in the Meadow. The care provided to Deanne allowed her to live a longer life, where she got to meet her grandchildren and enjoy the memories that came with them. Special thank you to Jason and Becky Betterton for giving of themselves to care for Deanne in her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 10:30AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church (5315 Tieton Drive, Yakima, WA 98908.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Rod's House of Yakima, Yakima Federal Savings and Loan Scholarship, or to the American Kidney Fund, may be sent in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936), who is caring for the family.
