About | Dianna Jean (Trenerry) Kirkevold, 75 years old, of Yakima, Washington, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 8, 2022, in Seattle, Washington. She was born at St. Elisabeth's Hospital. in Yakima, Washington. She lived briefly in Redmond, but moved back to Yakima and attended Whitman Elementary, Wilson Junior High, and Eisenhower High School, graduating in 1965. She moved back to Redmond shortly after graduating and started working for Pacific Northwest Bell in Seattle. She met her husband, Kim, in 1964, at a back-to-school dance, and they were married in Seattle in September 1966. She moved with Kim to Oakland, California, where he attended a Navy school and then they were off to Spain, where Kim was stationed. In Spain she worked at the Navy Exchange and made lasting friends with other couples there. After Active Duty, they returned to Seattle, and she went back to work for the phone company. In 1972 their first son, Kristian, was born. In 1973, they moved to Kennewick, and in 1974 their second son, Kory, was born. In Kennewick, they joined the Christian Reformed Church and have been members of that denomination ever since. In 1978, they moved to Olympia, Washington for Kim's work. She started helping at the church's pre-school in Olympia. In 1983 they moved back to Yakima, and she started working as a Teacher's Aide at Apple Valley Elementary. After a few years, she started up the Copy Center for the West Valley School District and ran that until her retirement in 2009. Dianna was a hard worker and always tried to do more than was asked. She made countless friends through her work and church. She loved going to Maui and soaking up the sun's warmth. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved playing all sorts of games, especially card games. She loved her sons and their families so much. She will be missed most by her husband, who adored and loved her so much. She is survived by her husband, Kim, son, Kristian Kirkevold and wife, Rainie, son, Kory Voldman and wife Suzanne, grandsons, Kaleb, Josh, Dane, and Abram, sisters, Donna Carmichael, and Debbie Dahling. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 16, 2022, at 5:00pm, at Life Church West (6711 Summitview Ave., Yakima, WA 98908). |
