*************
Gary Lloyd Baisinger, 65, passed away on November 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with MS. Gary was born on January 10, 1952 the son of C. Lloyd and Sherley (Day) Baisinger in Tacoma, Washington. He grew up in Kent, Washington and graduated from Kent-Meridian High School in 1970. He then attended Central Washington University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He settled in Yakima and taught in the Yakima School District, most notably at Eisenhower High School. Gary would meet Christy Miller while teaching music and the two married in 1978.

Gary was a passionate man, putting his heart and soul into whatever he did. He taught school in the Yakima District for almost 30 years, touching the hearts of his students and instilling a love of music. He loved to go fishing and boating with friends and family, enjoyed watching the Seahawks and Mariners, even when they were bad. He also had a chance to sing the National Anthem at a Mariners game. He had a love of the Yakima Bears baseball team, housing players, heckling the opposing team from the first base line, and attending games all summer long.

Gary is survived by his wife of 39 years, Christy; his children, Sarah (Robert) Mukasa, and Adam Baisinger; siblings, Glen (Nancy) Baisinger, Sheryl (Danita) Baisinger, Nancy (Bruce) Baisinger-Davis, Carol (Rob) Sturza; and cousin Steve (Julie) Day. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his best friend Roger Stansbury, who held a place for him at the poker table and the heavenly choir.

A Memorial service will be held on December 16, 2017 at Wesley United Methodist Church (14 N. 48th Ave., Yakima, WA 98908) at 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eisenhower High School Theater at a later date. To leave a message or a memory for the family please go to www.brooksidefhc.com.
