About | JACK HARRY LOUMAN, JR. December 29, 1948 ~ July 27, 2012 Jack Harry Louman, Jr. of Vancouver, WA passed from this life to heaven on Fri., July 27th at approximately 3:00 p.m. When Jack departed, he was in his home and in the arms of Libby Louman, his wife of 36 years. He was surrounded by his son Jack III, daughter Julianne, his brother Jeff and a number of his closest friends.Jack was born Dec. 29, 1948, the first of two sons born to Jack and Wanda Louman in Yakima, WA. After an active childhood of hunting, golf, wrestling and baseball, Jack left Yakima to attend Lewis and Clark College where he majored in Business. Along with being a deeply devoted husband and father, Jack was a conscientious citizen who was involved in a variety of political affairs and public policy issues throughout his life. Jack was also one of the founding members of the Oregon Family Council, an influential non-profit organization dedicated to protecting religious freedoms and family values.Jack is perhaps best known as an Executive Pastor of City Bible Church, a local church with four campuses in the Portland/Vancouver area and home to 6,000 regular attenders, where he's served for nearly 40 years. He was a sought after speaker and advisor who was regularly called upon to travel from coast-to-coast and more than 25 nations including Japan, Argentina, South Africa and Bolivia.Whether serving at home or abroad, Jack was a go-to guy. He had an uncanny ability (his friends called it a gift) to help people turn challenges into opportunities, hardships into possibilities and poor decisions into meaningful life lessons. Jack leaves on earth his Irish bride Libby; daughter, Julianne; son Jack and his wife, Brooke and their three children Peniel, Rafe and Sedric. He also leaves his mother, Wanda; and brother Jeff and his wife, Teresa. Jack will be greeted in heaven by his daughter, Jamie Lynn; and his father, Jack, whom he was named after.A home going service will be held on Sat., Aug. 4th at 3:00 p.m. at City Bible Church's Rocky Butte Campus at 9200 NE Fremont in Portland. |
