Later, his father married Therese Sexton. Jim moved to Yakima in 1959 & attended Robertson Elementary, Wilson Junior High, & Eisenhower High. After graduating, Jim attended and graduated from the University of Washington. Jim was married to Andrea Gregores from 1979 to 1995, & they welcomed two sons, Alex & Barret Hamm. The family settled in Issaquah, where Jim was a devoted father, coaching his boys' sports teams. Jim met Cindy Hales in 1999, & the two married on September 3, 2006. With Cindy, he embraced two bonus children, Chris & Ashley Hales, whom he loved as his own. Jim built an accomplished & respected career in commercial real estate & eventually launched his own company, Commercial Development & Consulting. Throughout the industry, Jim was known for his deep knowledge, impeccable integrity, loyalty, & remarkable work ethic. Clients & colleagues consistently became cherished friends. Jim's greatest joy came from people. He carried a quiet kindness & a wonderful sense of humor that made others feel at ease. Even when he was living with Alzheimer's disease, he continued to be his kind self and was surrounded by the enduring love & support of his family & lifelong friends. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Mark Miller & spouse Paulette Miller Garat, & his nephew Jeremy Hamm. Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy Hales; his sons, Alex & Barret Hamm; his bonus children & their families -- Chris, Kristen, & his granddaughter Corinne Hales; & Ashley & Nick Chapin, along with their soon-to-arrive daughter-Jim's future granddaughter. He is also survived by his beloved stepmother, Therese Sexton, & her husband, Pat; his brother Michael Hamm & wife, Janeen; his niece & nephews, Natalie Miller, Jeff Miller, & Zach Hamm; & many extended family members & friends who will forever hold his memory close. |
