About On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Jessica Ruth Laverne Pettis passed away, surrounded by her family, and woke up in the arms of Jesus. Jessica was born to Lavonna Hoffman and Micheal Pettis, on July 26, 1998, in Yakima, Washington.

When she was born, her grandmother, Lavone Sullivan, said she was a great pearl. Her big blue eyes and sweet smile brought joy to everyone around her.

Jessica spent most of her childhood with her aunt and uncle, Tim and Ruth O'Neal, on their farm with her second mom, Chauntelle O'Neal. She enjoyed attending church, singing, camping, fishing, and the outdoors. Most of all, she loved being a big sister to Noel and Athena. They enjoyed their time together doing hair, make-up, and nails.

Jessica worked at Dairy Queen while attending Eisenhower High School. She excelled in science and enjoyed being a part of choir. Jessica finished her education at Job Corps studying Culinary.

Jessica is survived by her parents, Kelly and Lavonna Hoffman of Yakima, WA, siblings, Noel and Athena Hoffman of Yakima, WA Angel (Jason) Kelly of Marion, LA, and Michael Pettis Jr of Reagan, TN, grandparents, Debbie Hoffman and John Miranda of Yakima, WA, Kelly and Barbara Hoffman of Stevensville, MT, Drucilla and Faylon Pettis of Cheney, WA, honorary grandparents, Hazel and Lee Broughton of Satus, WA, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Troy Lee and Lavone Sullivan of Yakima. WA, uncles, Clifford Sullivan, Jack Sullivan, Rodger Sullivan and Tim O'Neal of Yakima, WA, uncle, Alan Hoffman of Visalia, CA, aunt, Athena Rodman of Lancaster, CA.

A Private Celebration of Life for Jessica will be held at a later date.
