About | Joseph John Jaquins (Jet-Man) 74, passed away peacefully at his home on February 10th 2024, with his loving wife by his side. Joe was born on December 31, 1949 to John and Dorthy Jaquins in Yakima, WA. After Joe graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1968, he went on to Perry Technical College. After graduating with a degree in mechanics, Joe started his first job at Scott's Toyota of Tri-Cities kickstarting a 42 year career. Joe devoted 37 of those years working for the City of Yakima as a mechanic. Joe made many lifelong friends working for the city at the shop (Stewart, Susan, Art, Vern, Mike, Glen and many more). Joe met Patricia Phillips in 1981 in Yakima, they married shortly after, they spent 43 loving years together. They went on to have two kids, Kayla Jaquins (Stone), and Michael Jaquins. Joe enjoyed riding his snow mobile, was a member of a bowling league, a pool league, and of course loved working on cars. Joe was a loving and devoted family man to his wife, children and grandchildren, Joe made sure they all knew how much they were loved by him. Joe enjoyed taking his kids and grandkids to Rons for big ice cream cones, and showing them off at the city shop letting them explore the big rigs. It is believed he drove a 1966 Dodge Charger to heaven. He is survived by his wife Pat, brother Larry Jaquins (Martha), his nephew Larry Jr., daughter Kayla Stone (Kyle) of Yakima, son Michael Jaquins of New York, grandson Aaron Simmons (Hannah) of Oregon, step daughters Lori of Yakima, and Wendy of Oregon and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. ***************** Photo is from the 1967 IKE yearbook. |
