| About | Julianna “Julie” Jo Nielsen, 56, of Yakima, peacefully passed away at the Cottage in the Meadow, surrounded by her family on June 30, 2016. She was born on August 7, 1959 in Yakima, WA. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1977. Julie worked for Safeway, Kameo Flowers, and later owned Bridal Fantasy on Yakima Avenue. Most recently she worked for Party Connection. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Yakima Food Banks and The Madd Hatters Haunt. Halloween was her favorite holiday, though she enjoyed celebrating and decorating for every season. Julie was generous and giving and gave her all to the people & things she loved. She is survived by her parents, Nancy (Allen) Kukuczka and Joseph (Judi) St George, as well her siblings, Jim St George, Jon St George, Jennifer (Kevin) Vimont, Kirsten (Mark) Waggoner, Bobbie St George, Angie Beaudry, and David (Cathie) Norton. Julie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lloyd and Mae Sherry, Raymond and Stella St George, and John and Bernice Kukuczka, and her cousin, Rick Sherry. A Private Family Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 10th from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at Cascade Garden. To honor Julie, it will be a potluck. Please bring your favorite dish to share. The family wishes to thank the compassionate staff of Summitview Healthcare and Cottage in the Meadow.
